Megan Thee Stallion appeared to have some choice words for Justin Timberlake behind the scenes at VMAs 2023.
In a video circulating online, the rapper — whose real name is Megan Pete — seemed to be annoyed with Timberlake as he walked by her backstage.
The “Savage” performer can be seen raising her finger and talked animatedly to Timberlake who was with his *NSYNC bandmates.
However, multiple sources tell Page Six that the brief encounter was anything but heated.
“Meg loves Justin,” one source says. “She was saying, ‘No, no, no, we’ve never met before.’ It was their first time meeting and she was excited.”
A second insider offers a slightly different explanation for her reaction.
“Megan didn’t want this to be the first meeting with Justin Timberlake so said, ‘Not now,'” the eyewitness tells us.

Reps for both Timberlake and Megan did not immediately return Page Six’s requests for comment.
Timberlake, 42, reunited with his fellow *NSYNC members, JC Chasez, Lance Bass, Chris Kirkpatrick and Joey Fatone, at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., on Tuesday, following weeks of rumors that the pop group had a new project in the works.
The crowd erupted into delighted cheers when the boy band walked onto the VMAs stage together for the first time in 10 years.
Taylor Swift was particularly thrilled with their onstage reunion.
“I’m not doing well pivoting from this to this,” she said while accepting the trophy for Best Pop Video from the fivesome. “I had your dolls. Are you doing something? What’s going to happen now? They’re going to do something and I need to know what it is.”
Meanwhile, Megan, 28, was at the award show to perform her and Cardi B’s new single, “Bongos.”
The kinetic performance began with Cardi dropping down to the stage atop a giant diamond ball.
