Kate Middleton is ‘closed’ to healing rift with Prince Harry, Meghan Markle: royal expert

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s fallout with the royal family cannot be mended, according to multiple experts.

Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond claimed to British tabloid OK! magazine Monday that Kate Middleton was so “hurt and insulted” by the couple’s actions since leaving The Firm that she’s “closed her mind” to a reconciliation.

“When you come from a happy, united family — as Catherine does — it’s incredibly hard to understand how people can become estranged,” the journalist said.

“I think she believed the rift could be fixed and, after Prince Philip’s funeral, we saw her talking with Harry and obviously encouraging William to do the same.”

“But we now know that it didn’t work,” Bond continued before alleging, “In fact, William and Harry had a blazing row right after the funeral. There comes a point when you just have to accept that happy families are not a game that everyone can play.”

The royal expert also noted that Middleton and William were a “strong team” and likely came to the conclusion together that “the rift with Harry cannot be fixed in the foreseeable future.”

“They’ve closed their minds to that possibility and decided to get on with their lives,” she claimed.

Fellow royal expert Katie Nicholl added that the relationship between the former “Fab Four” broke down after Harry’s “snide remarks” about the Duchess of Cambridge in his explosive memoir, “Spare.”

“When you think of the personal revelations — and I think you can call them snide remarks made about Kate in ‘Spare’ — Harry broke the one rule, and that is staying silent on family matters,” she told the Sun last week.

“While Kate and Harry used to be very, very close, there’s been a complete breakdown of that relationship,” Nicholl explained.

“I don’t think Kate does angry. I think it is more a case of feeling very disappointed, very let down and feeling hurt knowing that she had no right of reply — and Harry knew full well she had no right of reply.”

The journalist alleged that William, 41, was “very angry” with his younger brother, 39, for speaking about his wife in his book since the Princess of Wales, also 41, had “acted very much as the peacekeeper.”

“She tried to get the brothers back on an even keel and for Kate to be dragged into this mucky saga was upsetting for her and certainly did infuriate William,” Nicholl claimed.

The experts’ opinions come just weeks after it was reported that Middleton was “dreading” having to see Harry again.

“There is a severe lack of trust, and they don’t want the conversation repeated to anyone,” royal expert Kinsey Schofield told Fox News on Sept. 7.

The “R is for Revenge Dress” author also accurately predicted that Harry would mention the late Queen Elizabeth ll while giving his speech at the WellChild Awards earlier this month.

“As you know, I was unable to attend the awards last year as my grandmother passed away,” he said at the time.

Experts suggested there is no hope for a reconciliation in the “foreseeable future.”

“As you also probably know, she would have been the first person to insist that I still come to be with you all instead of going to her.”

The Duke of Sussex and Markle, 42, resigned from their royal duties in 2020 and later moved to Montecito, Calif., where they reside with their two children, Prince Archie, 4, and Princess Lilibet, 2.

Despite their feud with the royal family, they attended Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral together last year.
