Meghan Markle made a surprise visit to the TrébeCafé, a drop-in center for homeless women, while abroad in Düsseldorf, Germany for her husband Prince Harry’s annual Invictus Games.
The Duchess of Sussex was spotted stopping by the community café — which provides resources and a safe haven for girls and young women who live on the streets — last week.
In an Instagram photo shared by nonprofit Diakonie Düsseldorf Karriere on Tuesday, Markle, 42, is seen wearing a cozy gray cable-knit sweater and coordinating slacks as she smiles with a group of women and children at the center.
“🌟What a special moment!🌟 Duchess Meghan also visited our TrebeCafé during her stay in Düsseldorf on the occasion of the Invictus Games. 💙,” the nonprofit captioned the post, which was translated from German to English.
According to the organization, Markle “suddenly appeared at the door” and visitors spoke with the duchess about their struggles and life on the street before Markle prepared lunch for everyone.
“Meghan took over the chopping of vegetables without further ado,” the organization shared. “In a relaxed atmosphere, the young women now had the opportunity to ask the Duchess everything they had always wanted to know about her.”
In a photo reportedly posted and then deleted by a woman named Aylin Aydemir, Markle is seen smiling next to a woman dressed in black. Another snap displays the former “Suits” actress crouching next to a young girl dressed in pink.
A rep for the Sussexes and TrébeCafé did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
The “Archetypes” podcast host and Harry, 39, were in the German City last week to host the 2023 Invictus Games.
The duo put on a loved-up display as they held hands and kept things flirty throughout the annual multi-sport competitions for sick or injured soldiers and veterans.
But it was Markle’s style choices that really stole the show. She stunned in shoes by Chanel and Hermés on day one of her visit, but she also rocked more affordable brands like Zara, J.Crew and Banana Republic.

Though she went for more neutral ensembles throughout her stay, Markle dazzled in a chic teal Cult Gaia dress ($798) at the Invictus Games closing ceremony.
Markle’s fashion was slammed for causing a distraction from the games, but her aides assured critics that her wardrobe is either “vintage” or being reworn.
Harry and Markle also made a surprise visit to a local Düsseldorf brewery while celebrating the Duke of Sussex’s birthday last week.
The red-headed royal reportedly knocked back six beers during the festivities and left a generous tip for staffers.
Harry, who launched the Invictus Games in 2014, and Markle reside in Montecito, Calif., with their two kids: Prince Archie, 4, and Princess Lilibet, 2.
