Fans compare Kate Middleton’s turtleneck to Steve Jobs’ as she meets Apple CEO Tim Cook

This royal apple-solutely loves a turtleneck.

Two of Kate Middleton’s fashion eras collided in a new pic shared by Apple CEO Tim Cook on Friday, with the Princess of Wales meeting the tech exec in a striped trouser suit and Gabriela Hearst turtleneck ($690) sweater that some fans thought was channeling late Apple CEO Steve Jobs.

“It was a true honor to meet with the Prince and Princess of Wales,” Cook wrote on Twitter. “We had a wonderful and wide-ranging discussion about the environment, mental health, and other issues that mean a great deal to all of us.”

In the snapshot, Middleton, 41, poses next to her husband, Prince William, while wearing a pinstriped navy Holland Cooper blazer ($669) with gold buttons and matching trousers ($364).

Cook wore his signature polo shirt under a suit while Prince William chose a blue button-up.

She wore her hair down in a simple straight style, adding her go-to Spells of Love gold hoop earrings ($73).

But it was her beige turtleneck sweater that got fans’ attention, making several wonder if she’d intentionally worn it to honor Jobs, who famously only wore turtlenecks.

“Maybe is the turtleneck sweater in memory of Steve Jobs? ” one fan joked on the Royal Fashion Police Instagram account, with the style blogger replying, “But but but Tim Cook era is Polo, Turtleneck is RIP 🙏🙏.”

“Princess of Wales in her Steve Jobs-style poloneck there, lovely touch,” another fan wrote on Twitter, while Royal Style Watch on Instagram commented, “Kate wore a @jadehollandcooper blazer paired with a turtleneck ( like Steve 🙂) that looked absolutely chic for Fall 🍂.”

Jobs comments aside, other royal fashion fans joked about the return of the turtleneck for the royal, who had a penchant for wearing monochromatic turtlenecks and skirts last year.

“Oh oh when pantsuit and turtleneck uniform go together :D” one Instagram user commented on Royal Fashion Police’s post.

Perhaps her look was also a subtle shout-out to Jobs’ ability to constantly wear the same style, as the princess has been criticized for exclusively wearing trouser suits lately — with Friday’s looking making it the seventh consecutive suit this month.

We say if the suit (or sweater) fits, wear it.
